Ways to donate to Cayuga County Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity's mission is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. We believe that access to safe, decent and affordable housing is a basic human right that should be available to all.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals, corporations, faith groups and foundations, Cayuga County Habitat for Humanity has completed 11 homes for families in need in Cayuga County to date.

We are also proud to be a 100% volunteer organization. This means we have very low overhead costs, and are able to direct nearly every dollar donated to home building.

There are different ways you can help us financially:

    Individual Donations:

    Faith and Community Groups

Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian organization and makes adequate shelter a matter of faith, conscience and action. Anyone who shares our conviction that every man, woman and child deserve a decent and affordable home is welcome to be part of our mission, regardless of religious preference or background.

Members of various churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples work together on our committees and on our construction sites to build houses in partnership with those in need. In addition to working on the sites, faith and community groups can help in many other unique ways:

    • Pray for Habitat: Without the continuing prayers of millions of people, Habitat's work could not continue.
    • Make Donations: Make regular donations to Habitat, take up special Habitat offerings, or raise funds to build all or part of a house. A congregation may sponsor a house individually or join with another congregation to raise the money and build a house together.
    • Provide Volunteers: Organize a group of volunteers to work on a house that your group has helped sponsor or serve on one of Habitat's many committees, including its Ministerial Relations Committee.
    • Help Engage your Community: Host speakers, including representatives from Habitat, to raise awareness on the issues surrounding substandard housing. Engage your congregants, community members, and youth groups in the Habitat mission.
Habitat provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and love into action, bringing diverse groups of people together to make affordable housing and better communities a reality for everyone. For more information on how your group can become more involved, contact the Habitat office at 315-255-1427.
